Shopping Trip - Week of 1/22 - Round Two!

As promised, I uped the grocery budget for this week and went out do shop this week’s ad for Shoprite, CVS and Walgreens. I still have one more transaction I’d like to do at Shoprite either tonight or tomorrow with the coupons I’m getting in the mail today. For the most part, though, I’m done with shopping until next weekend! This means no mad dashes this weekend – unless of course the Pathmark or Acme ad is really spectacular and I want to get a jump on it. I like having the option of not shopping this weekend at all. Anyway.. on to me trip..

First I went to Shoprite where I did 2 transactions so I could use my $10 catalina from the P&G promotion right away.

I did Scenario 1 here for that promotion and I also grabbed some free Quaker treats. They were on sale for $0.77 each so both bags of the True Delights Crisps were only $0.02 each after the $0.75 coupon from the 1/10 RP. The peppers, onions and brown sugar were for my turkey meatloaf that night – and the bananas were for my morning oatmeal.

My total oop was $34.64 for $62.14 worth of groceries. I also received a $10 catalina and qualify for the P&G $10 MIR. After rebates my price will be $14.64 – a savings of 76%.

Then I did another transaction and used my $10 catalina to buy some of the ground beef on sale for $1.69/lb this week. I also picked up a bag of Tostitos to use up a free product coupon I had lying around from a contest. I’ll use that towards my Coors Light/Tostitos/Pepsi rebate submission.

After the Catalina, I paid $2.15 oop for $16.14 worth of groceries (6 lbs of ground beef and a bag of Tostitos). I can’t believe some people pay $4.99 a bag for chips... makes me cringe! Either way, I saved 87% on this transaction.

Then I stopped at Walgreens to get my lotions for the Olay Quench rebate. If you want to participate you have until this Sunday (1/31) to make your purchase! You can find the rebate form here.

This week you can also get a free Olay In-Shower Lotion wyb a 20 oz Quench. The deal looks like this:

Buy:

(2) 20 oz Olay Quench Lotions - $15.98
(2) Olay In-Shower Lotions - $0.00
= $15.98

Use:

(2) $2 off Olay Lotion PG 1/17
(2) $1 off Olay In-Shower Lotion PG 1/17
=$9.98 plus tax OOP and then submit the rebate for $15.98 back
= $6.00 moneymaker

Lastly, I made a quick stop at CVS for Diet Pepsi and some Pepsi Throwback for the boyfriend.

Pepsi 12 pks are 3/$10 this week and are giving back $10 ECB wyb $20 worth. You can submit this for the 'spend $20, get $7.50 back' Coors Light/Tostitos/Pepsi MIR or you can combine it with other receipts and submit for the 'spend $30, get back $10' rebate.

Here I paid with $20 Extra bucks for an oop cost of $1.40 (just tax) and got back $10 in ECB.

If you live locally you can pair this receipt with the free French's Mustard and cheap Hefty paper plates and cups at Shoprite this week for a possible moneymaker. I'm gonna go out tonight for some of the mustard and then submit those 2 receipts with the one for the Tostitos for $10 back.

P&G Go For the Gold Rebate Scenarios for Shoprite

This week is Round 2 of the Go For The Gold rebate at Shoprite. It works like this:

- Purchase $25 worth of participating P&G products and receive a $10 prepaid visa gift card by mail. The rebate form will print from the catalina machine.

OR

-Purchase $50 worth of participating P&G products and receive a $10 prepaid Visa gift card back by mail AND a $10 catalina good on your next purchase at Shoprite.

As far as I know you should be able to earn the $10 catalina as many times as you want (in separate transactions) but you can only submit for the $10 Visa by mail once. So if you did this last week you probably won't get the Visa again.

This deal is calculating the $50.00 based on the product's shelf price, not the sale price - I confirmed this last night. That makes for an even better deal!

Here are some scenarios I came up with to make the most of this rebate:

Buy:

(2) Charmin Bath Tissue 12 packs - $9.98 ($13.98 Shelf Price)

(3) Bounty Basic Paper Towel 8 packs - $14.97 ($20.97 SP)

(2) Febreze Noticeables - $11.98 ($13.98 SP)

(1) Magic Eraser 2pk - $1.99 ($1.99 sp)

= $38.92 ($50.92 Shelf Price)

Use:

- $1/2 Charmin P&G 12/27

- (3) $1/1 Bounty P&G 12/27

- (2) $4/1 Febreze Noticeables P&G 1/17

- $1.50 ($0.75 doubled) Magic Eraser from Home Made Simple Home Mailer

= $25.42 OOP and get back $10 oyno and $10 Visa gift card via MIR

- Like paying $5.42 after rebate and Catalina!

If you don’t have the Home Made Simple booklet, you could still do this without the magic eraser coupon and you would still only pay $26.92 oop or $6.92 after rebate and oyno.

Depending on how many copies of the inserts you buy you could also do it this way:

Buy:

(2) Charmin Bath Tissue 12 packs - $9.98 ($13.98 SP)

(3) Bounty Basic Paper Towel 8 packs - $14.97 ($20.97 SP)

(3) Febreze Noticeables - $17.97 ($20.97 SP)

= $42.92 ($55.92 SP)

Use:

- $1/2 Charmin P&G 12/27

- (3) $1/1 Bounty P&G 12/27

- (3) $4/1 Febreze Noticeables P&G 1/17

= $26.92 OOP and get back $10 oyno and $10 Visa gift card via MIR

- Like paying $6.92 after rebate and Catalina!

OR if you’re really in need of a good stock-up sale on paper products, you could do this as well:

Buy:

(4) Charmin Bath Tissue 12 packs - $19.96 ($27.96 SP)

(4) Bounty Basic Paper Towel 8 packs - $19.96 ($27.96 SP)

= $33.92 ($55.92 SP)

Use:

- (2) $1/2 Charmin P&G 12/27

- (4) $1/1 Bounty P&G 12/27

= $33.92 OOP and get back $10 oyno and $10 Visa gift card via MIR

- Like paying $13.92 after rebate and Catalina!

That’s only $0.19 a roll for the paper towels and $0.17 a roll for the bath tissue.

Feel free to let me know if you find any other good scenarios or you can post them in the comments!

Kraft Cheese Catalina Deal (possibly) Ending Tonight!

I found out earlier that this catalina is printing at Pathmark. Unfortunately, its gotten so late that by the time I type up the whole deal, it will be too late to make it to the store before closing time for some of you. Luckily, the fabulous Cindy over at Living Rich with Coupons has already done so. She has the whole deal here for those of you who have some free time tonight and want a great price on cheese.

Shopping Trip - Week of 1/22

It's been an insanely busy few months and unfortunately my poor blog got abandoned in the shuffle. One of my News Years resolutions was to put it back on my to-do list, and while I'm a few weeks late, there are so many great deals this week I thought it would be the perfect time to start writing again.

I started this year with a goal grocery/household items budget of $50-$75 a week, but we're only a household of 2 so I'd like to stick closer to $50. I realize that's an ambitious goal, but I think I'm up for the challenge. If we go over by a bit it won't be an issue as long as we keep it under $75.

I did 2 transactions at Shoprite this week (technically last week because we went yesterday). That way I could use my $5 catalina from the P&G deal on the same trip. I went mainly for the super cheap Smart Ones meals (which I need now that Cindy inspired me to join Weight Watchers) and for the P&G Go For the Gold rebate deal that Cindy told us about here.

Shoprite = Spent $43.19 oop for about $100 worth of groceries and have an MIR for $10 back for a savings of about 67%.

Transaction 1:

6 Pantene shampoos/conditioners @ 2.99 ea [- (3) $3/2 from 12/27 P&G ] = $1.49 ea or $8.94
1 Gillette Series Shave Gel @ $1.99 [- $1 from 12/27 P&G] = $0.99
2 Always Pads @ $2.99 [- BOGO from 12/27 P&G] = $1.50 ea or $2.99
10 Smart Ones @ $0.99 ea [- $4/10 peelie] = $0.59 ea or $5.90
1 Smart Ones Breakfast [- Free Breakfast wyb 5 Smart Ones from 1/10 SS] = FREE
1 Lay's Potato Chips @ $2.69 (These wandered into the cart cause my beloved boyfriend is an impulse shopper.. no coupon on these) = $2.69
4 9Lives Canned Food 4 packs @ $1.25 [- $1/3 from January All You Mag.] = $1.00 ea or $4.00
2 packs of Chicken Breasts @ $1.99/lb (We really needed these) = $13.64

Final price for this transaction was $41.60 for about $74 worth of groceries. I also got a $5 oyno for the P&G Go For the Gold and I will get a $10 Visa gift card back in a mail in rebate.

Transaction 2:

2 Lysol Wipes @ $1.49 [- (2) $1 from 1/3 SS] = $0.49 ea or $0.98
10 Smart Ones @ $0.99 ea [- $4/10 peelie] = $0.59 ea or $5.90
1 Smart Ones Flatbread [- Free Flatbread wyb 3 Smart Ones from 1/10 SS] = FREE

Used $5 catalina from previous transaction.
Final price for this transaction was $1.59 for about $25 worth of groceries.

Then it was off to Acme for free cereal and frozen vegetables...

Acme: Spent $5.98 oop for $36.49 worth of groceries for a savings of 84%.

5 Birds Eye Steamfresh Veggies @ $1.00 ea [- (5) $0.50 from 1/10 SS (these doubled to $1.00)] = FREE
2 Silk Soymilk @ $2.99 [- (2) $0.75 printables (doubles to $1.50)] = $1.49 ea or $3.98
2 Malt-o-Meal Cereals @ $1.49 ea [- (2) $0.75 printables (doubles to $1.50)] = FREE
2 Hostess 100 Calorie Cupcakes @ $3.oo ea [- (2) $0.75 printables (doubles to $1.50)] = $1.50 ea or $3.00

Total: $5.98 oop

Then I hit up Pathmark for the awesome dairy deals: cheap Kraft cheese and free sour cream and Coffeemate creamers. Also picked up a few essentials we were out of.

Pathmark: Spent $24.43 oop for $64.41 worth of groceries for a savings of 62%. I also got a $5 catalina back for the Kraft cheese that I'm saving for next week.

6 Kraft cheese @ $1.98 ea (- (3) $1/2 printables) = $1.48 ea of $11.88 (after catalina these were $0.65 each!
2 8th Continent Soymilk @ $2.99 [- (2) $2 printables] = $0.99 ea or $1.98
2 Breakstone's Sour Cream @ $1.00 ea [- (2) $0.55 printables (doubled to $1.00) = FREE
2 Coffeemate Creamers @ $1.00 ea [- (2) $1.00 printables] = FREE
4 Francesco Rinaldi Pasta Sauces @ $1.00 ea (no coupon.. we were just out) = $4.00
1 grated Parmesan = $2.79
1 pack of London Broil @ $1.77/lb (awesome price for this!) = $6.78

Total: $24.43 with $5 oyno remaining for next week.

Lastly, I made a quick run to Target cause it was the last day for the Olay Regenerist rebate.
.

Target: $0.00 oop (used gift card I earned a few weeks ago) and will receive a $15 MIR.

2 Olay Regenerist Facial Cleansers @ $5.49 [- (2) $3.00 off from 1/17 P&G] = $2.49 ea or $4.98

I paid with a gift card I earned awhile back, not sure what I got it for right now. I will submit for the $15 MIR wyb 2 Olay Regenerist.

Total for the week: $74.60 oop
Will get back: $5 catalina and $25 in rebates
Cost after rebates: $44.60
