Keurig K-Cup Deal at Amazon Ends Today

I love my Keurig machine, but the regular price on K-Cups at my Shoprite is about $6.99 for a 12 pack. In my opinion that's a little pricey so I was thrilled to find this awesome deal on K-Cups at amazon.com. Today is the last day to get in on this so if you use Keurig too you may want to stock up now! Many of the K-Cups are 25% off right now - I would suggest buying a 50 count pack for the best deal - I bought the Donut Shop flavor from The Coffee People and it's delicious! The deal looks like this:

Buy 50 count K-Cups priced (originally $27.90) @ 25% off = $21.00
- Choose the Subscribe & Save option on the right (cancel this once the order ships) & save 15% = -$3.15
- Use code KCUP9306 at checkout for an extra 10% off = -$2.10
Final Price is $15.75 for a 50 ct box or $0.32 per cup

If you have Amazon Prime this will ship free or you can get a free trial here. Otherwise you can buy 2 at a time to get free Super Saver Shipping.

My January Budget Review

One of my resolutions was to start the year off right by keeping careful track of our spending, especially our grocery budget. Each month I will post a review of our grocery spending for the month and track our progress to lowering our grocery expenses.

I gave myself an ambitious goal of $50 per week, which came out to $250 this month (5 weeks). I honestly didn't think I would be able to make this happen right away, but I had my stockpile on my side. I already had months worth of medication, HBA items and household products stockpiled which as been a tremendous help in keeping our numbers down.

Here are the final tallies for January:

Shelf Price of Products Purchased: $861.60

Savings from Store/Loyalty Cards: $340.30

Savings from Coupons: $214.99

Savings from Mail in Rebates: $60.97

Total Saved: $616.30

Total Spent: $245.30

Savings Rate: 71.53%

I came in under budget by $5 - definitely a win!

If you want to track your savings and spending too - visit The Coupon Project and download their FREE budget and expense tracker. It was a lifesaver for me!

Facebook Freebie: $5 Babies 'R' Us Gift Card - Today Only!

Have you gotten your free $5 gift card today? If not, you’ll want to log into facebook and become a fan of Babies ‘R’ US. Then they’ll send your gift card right to your inbox for you to use on anything in-store or online anytime between now and February 20, 2010.

The fine print reads: Valid 1/28 only while supplies last. Limit one per request. Limited quantity; no rainchecks.

I’m not sure how large their supply is, but I’d go now if I were you!

Shopping Trip - Week of 1/22 - Round Two!

As promised, I uped the grocery budget for this week and went out do shop this week’s ad for Shoprite, CVS and Walgreens. I still have one more transaction I’d like to do at Shoprite either tonight or tomorrow with the coupons I’m getting in the mail today. For the most part, though, I’m done with shopping until next weekend! This means no mad dashes this weekend – unless of course the Pathmark or Acme ad is really spectacular and I want to get a jump on it. I like having the option of not shopping this weekend at all. Anyway.. on to me trip..

First I went to Shoprite where I did 2 transactions so I could use my $10 catalina from the P&G promotion right away.

I did Scenario 1 here for that promotion and I also grabbed some free Quaker treats. They were on sale for $0.77 each so both bags of the True Delights Crisps were only $0.02 each after the $0.75 coupon from the 1/10 RP. The peppers, onions and brown sugar were for my turkey meatloaf that night – and the bananas were for my morning oatmeal.

My total oop was $34.64 for $62.14 worth of groceries. I also received a $10 catalina and qualify for the P&G $10 MIR. After rebates my price will be $14.64 – a savings of 76%.

Then I did another transaction and used my $10 catalina to buy some of the ground beef on sale for $1.69/lb this week. I also picked up a bag of Tostitos to use up a free product coupon I had lying around from a contest. I’ll use that towards my Coors Light/Tostitos/Pepsi rebate submission.

After the Catalina, I paid $2.15 oop for $16.14 worth of groceries (6 lbs of ground beef and a bag of Tostitos). I can’t believe some people pay $4.99 a bag for chips... makes me cringe! Either way, I saved 87% on this transaction.

Then I stopped at Walgreens to get my lotions for the Olay Quench rebate. If you want to participate you have until this Sunday (1/31) to make your purchase! You can find the rebate form here.

This week you can also get a free Olay In-Shower Lotion wyb a 20 oz Quench. The deal looks like this:

Buy:

(2) 20 oz Olay Quench Lotions - $15.98
(2) Olay In-Shower Lotions - $0.00
= $15.98

Use:

(2) $2 off Olay Lotion PG 1/17
(2) $1 off Olay In-Shower Lotion PG 1/17
=$9.98 plus tax OOP and then submit the rebate for $15.98 back
= $6.00 moneymaker

Lastly, I made a quick stop at CVS for Diet Pepsi and some Pepsi Throwback for the boyfriend.

Pepsi 12 pks are 3/$10 this week and are giving back $10 ECB wyb $20 worth. You can submit this for the 'spend $20, get $7.50 back' Coors Light/Tostitos/Pepsi MIR or you can combine it with other receipts and submit for the 'spend $30, get back $10' rebate.

Here I paid with $20 Extra bucks for an oop cost of $1.40 (just tax) and got back $10 in ECB.

If you live locally you can pair this receipt with the free French's Mustard and cheap Hefty paper plates and cups at Shoprite this week for a possible moneymaker. I'm gonna go out tonight for some of the mustard and then submit those 2 receipts with the one for the Tostitos for $10 back.

P&G Go For the Gold Rebate Scenarios for Shoprite

This week is Round 2 of the Go For The Gold rebate at Shoprite. It works like this:

- Purchase $25 worth of participating P&G products and receive a $10 prepaid visa gift card by mail. The rebate form will print from the catalina machine.

OR

-Purchase $50 worth of participating P&G products and receive a $10 prepaid Visa gift card back by mail AND a $10 catalina good on your next purchase at Shoprite.

As far as I know you should be able to earn the $10 catalina as many times as you want (in separate transactions) but you can only submit for the $10 Visa by mail once. So if you did this last week you probably won't get the Visa again.

This deal is calculating the $50.00 based on the product's shelf price, not the sale price - I confirmed this last night. That makes for an even better deal!

Here are some scenarios I came up with to make the most of this rebate:

Buy:

(2) Charmin Bath Tissue 12 packs - $9.98 ($13.98 Shelf Price)

(3) Bounty Basic Paper Towel 8 packs - $14.97 ($20.97 SP)

(2) Febreze Noticeables - $11.98 ($13.98 SP)

(1) Magic Eraser 2pk - $1.99 ($1.99 sp)

= $38.92 ($50.92 Shelf Price)

Use:

- $1/2 Charmin P&G 12/27

- (3) $1/1 Bounty P&G 12/27

- (2) $4/1 Febreze Noticeables P&G 1/17

- $1.50 ($0.75 doubled) Magic Eraser from Home Made Simple Home Mailer

= $25.42 OOP and get back $10 oyno and $10 Visa gift card via MIR

- Like paying $5.42 after rebate and Catalina!

If you don’t have the Home Made Simple booklet, you could still do this without the magic eraser coupon and you would still only pay $26.92 oop or $6.92 after rebate and oyno.

Depending on how many copies of the inserts you buy you could also do it this way:

Buy:

(2) Charmin Bath Tissue 12 packs - $9.98 ($13.98 SP)

(3) Bounty Basic Paper Towel 8 packs - $14.97 ($20.97 SP)

(3) Febreze Noticeables - $17.97 ($20.97 SP)

= $42.92 ($55.92 SP)

Use:

- $1/2 Charmin P&G 12/27

- (3) $1/1 Bounty P&G 12/27

- (3) $4/1 Febreze Noticeables P&G 1/17

= $26.92 OOP and get back $10 oyno and $10 Visa gift card via MIR

- Like paying $6.92 after rebate and Catalina!

OR if you’re really in need of a good stock-up sale on paper products, you could do this as well:

Buy:

(4) Charmin Bath Tissue 12 packs - $19.96 ($27.96 SP)

(4) Bounty Basic Paper Towel 8 packs - $19.96 ($27.96 SP)

= $33.92 ($55.92 SP)

Use:

- (2) $1/2 Charmin P&G 12/27

- (4) $1/1 Bounty P&G 12/27

= $33.92 OOP and get back $10 oyno and $10 Visa gift card via MIR

- Like paying $13.92 after rebate and Catalina!

That’s only $0.19 a roll for the paper towels and $0.17 a roll for the bath tissue.

Feel free to let me know if you find any other good scenarios or you can post them in the comments!

Making a Change to the Budget This Week

After much deliberation, I’ve decided to raise my grocery budget for this week because of the way my payday coincides with the Grocery store ad schedules. I’ve been starting my budget weeks on Friday because that’s when I get paid and that has worked out perfectly for shopping at stores like Pathmark and Acme that release a new ad that day. I do most of my shopping, however, at Shoprite and I have gotten behind schedule there. I find that most weeks I wait until payday on Friday to go to Shoprite and that usually means I’m rushing there every Saturday evening to try to shop that weeks ad before the sale ends. This takes away from other things I would like to be doing on the weekend and it doesn’t allow me much time to get my shopping trip posted. I would like to have that post up earlier in the week so that my readers still have a few days to run over if they see a deal or transaction they want to try. It’s also made it difficult to stock up on sale items (my store only allows 4 identical coupons per transaction) and usually they run out of stuff I wanted or have far less variety than they would normally have. I’ve been looking for a solution to this problem – other than the obvious, stop procrastinating! – and have decided to give myself some extra money in the budget for this week so that I can go out early and grab the things I need out of this weeks ad. I’m hoping this will make it so that I can start doing all my grocery shopping on a weeknight and be done by the time Friday rolls around. It’s a bit of an investment to make at first, but I think it will help keep me on budget – and on schedule – in the future.

I’m still waiting for some coupons that I ordered, but I’m gonna plan on doing a transaction or 2 at Shoprite tonight and also try to stop at CVS and Walgreens. I’ll report back later with my finds!
